ANATOMY CLASS PRAYER OF A MEDICAL STUDENT
O Lord, behold me standing here in the dissection before the lifeless body of a person unknown to me. But very well known to you and very much loved by you.
This body and all its parts were designed and fashioned by you with your own hands. You had breathed into this body the breath of your own life. And this body became a person who lived here on this earth. This person had breathed the air, had drunk the water, and had eaten the food here on this earth.
And now you have recalled this person to return to you in eternity, I pray for this person. I pray for pardon, remission of penalties, for peace and eternal rest.
I shall stand before this body with great respect and reverence.
I shall touch and dissect it so that I may understand and appreciate the intricacies and dignity of the human body, the wonderful unity and function
of all the organs that you have placed in our bodies.
Teach me, O Creator of the human body, that I may possess scientific knowledge of the human anatomy, give me faith and your gift of healing to relieve the suffering of your beloved people today.
I pray in the name of Jesus who died to pay my spiritual debt, rose from the dead and now wants to share with me his life forever and ever. Amen.
