{{c1::CBT::This}} is the cornerstone of therapy for Pts w/ PTSD.

{{c1::Sertraline}}, {{c1::paroxetine}}, OR {{c1::venlafaxine}}, in conjunction w/ that cornerstone may help relieve PTSD symptoms.

Note 1: Sertraline and Paroxetine are FDA approved for PTSD, venflafaxine is commonly used as well.
Note 2: In early PTSD, benzos can → paradoxical ↑PTSD Sx, as well as risk fo abuse/suicidality; can be used in short-term treatment of of panic attacks
Note 3: Prazosin is an α1-blocker that was used for PTSD related Sx, however, it has failed to show benefits in larger RCTs
Note 4: PTSD can be personal, through a loved one, or by repeated exposure to details/footage of an event
