A positive tourniquet test is characteristic

Dengue Infx typically has a 2 week incubation, and present w abrupt onset, high-grade fever, HA, retro-orbital pain, myalgia, arthralgia, lower back pain, and maculopapular rash. It can also cause leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and elevated aminotransferase levels on labs. The fever has a "saddleback pattern" where it starts abruptly, abates after a few days, then mildly returns.

Dengue virus is the most common cause of fever in travelers returning from South and Central America. Also seen in Caribbean, Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa
