Fields:

Front
What are the two commonly used buffers
Back
TBE and TAE

T - Tris, a pH buffer which helps maintain a consistent pH of the solution
E - EDTS (ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid)

EDTA - chelates divalent cation like magnesium (chelation - type of bonding of ions and molecules to metal ions). important because most nuclease require divalent cations for activity. any stray nuclease (nuclease cleave DNA) will degrade DNA and this is not what you want if you are running a DNA gel

B or A - boric acid or acetic acid provide proper ionic conentration for the buffe.
