Extends from external auditory canal to angle of jaw
◦ Duct extends medially from gland in a straight line across the masseter
muscle
◦ At anterior border of masseter muscle, duct makes right angle turn and
pierces buccinator muscle and enters mouth at level of upper second
molar
◦ Posterior half of masseter covered by superficial lobe of parotid gland
◦ Point at where duct crosses the anterior border of muscle may be
projected at a point where a line connecting the tragus to the middle of
the upper lip
