Slide quality: what causes wrinkled or folded epidermis?

Occurs usually when cutting tissue across blade, picking up wafer for
slide placement, or inappropriate handling of the brush or tools
◦ Hold slide at appropriate angle to ensure proper lift and placement of
tissue onto slide – wrinkling of tissue if angle too shallow and stretching
of tissue if angle too steep
◦ High humidity in lab, cryostat cutting blade not at optimal cutting
temperature, and moisture on slide can lead to curling of tissue
