Clearance (Cl)
- rate of removal of drug from volume of plasma
- used to determine calculations such as steady-state concentration, loading dose
{{c2::steady-state}} concentration (Css):
- plasma concentration when rate of {{c1::infusion}} = rate of {{c1::elimination}}
- reached after {{c3::4-5::range}} half-lives, not immediate unless you give loading dose
- may not be the same as the dose needed for {{c4::therapeutic}} effect (just adjust dose if this is the case)
{{c5::loading dose}}: dose needed to reach immediate steady-state concentration
