During inspiration, the diaphragm is innervated by the {{c1::phrenic}} nerve from the {{c1::C3-C5 cervical::not DRG, spinal cord}} segments. Contraction and {{c2::downward}} movement of the diaphragm causes {{c2::increased::decreased/increased}} intrathroracic volume and {{c2::decreased::decreased/increased}} intrathoracic pressure, which initiates air inflow.
