What is the triad of symptoms of ocular ischemic syndrome?

  • {{c1::Gradual vision loss}}
  • {{c1::Orbital pain}}
  • {{c1::Prolonged recovery after bright lights}}
Extra
OIS patients complain that they are ‘blind for a long time’ or have pain after exposure to bright light. think of it like angina for eye. Also think about OIS in someone with NVI/NVG when no DM or CRVO

Ischemic retinal circulation is unable meet the high metabolic demand created by the photostress in a timely manner. Think of it as retinal claudication, with prolonged visual recovery time being analogous to the calf pain PAD pts get when they walk, and the jaw pain GCA pts get when they chew.
