How is chlamydia conjunctivitis characterized in newborns vs adults?

After 1 month they can end up with follicular reaction.

Also neonates have a greater amount of mucopurulent discharge, intracytoplasmic inclusions are seen in a greater percentage of conj specimens in newborns. Neonates are more likely to have a favorable response to topical medication.
