- Aerobic respiration or oxidative phosphorylation when we have adequate oxygen:
- Energy source is glucose, fatty acids, and amino acids
- They are transported to mitochondria, entering the citric acid cycle
- Large amount of energy produced (EX: ~32 ATP from 1 glucose)
- Slower reaction, requires continuous O2 supply
