Catheter removal is always recommended for CLABSI’s caused by {{c1::S. aureus}}, {{c1::Pseudomonas aeruginosa}}, {{c1::drug-resistant gram-negative bacilli}}, {{c1::any fungi}}, or {{c1::any mycobacteria}}.

Note 1: The IDSA specifically rec removal for S. aureus, fungi and mycobacteria, regardless of whether the infx is causing a complicated or uncomplicated line-related infx
Note 2: Many line-related infx can be managed medically if they are uncomplicated (no assoc hypotension, persistent bacteremia, embolic phenomena, tunnel infx), but "wise management always supports removing the line if technically feasible."
