Describe the pathway for the corneal reflex if one eye's cornea is touched [4]

- Touch is detected by sensory branches of opthalmic division (V1) of trigeminal nerve (CN 5)
- Trigeminal nerve synpases with neurons in spinal trigeminal nucleus in medulla of brainstem
- These neurons synapse bilaterally with facial nerves in chief sensory nucleus in the pons of brainstem
- Facial nerve stimulates orbicularis oculi to contract causing eyelids to cloes
