  1. Touch is detected by sensory branches of opthalmic division (V1) of trigeminal nerve (CN 5)
  2. Trigeminal nerve synpases with neurons in spinal trigeminal nucleus in medulla of brainstem
  3. These neurons synapse bilaterally with facial nerves in chief sensory nucleus in the pons of brainstem 
  4. Facial nerve stimulates orbicularis oculi to contract causing eyelids to cloes
