What's Terrien's marginal degeneration?
{{c1::A corneal condition that you get a bunch of T's with:
Thinning of the cornea
Top (starts superiorly)
Thirties (age it starts)*
Transplantation (crescent shaped lamellar) if perforation occurrs}}
Extra
*Per BCSC it most commonly presents after the age of 40
It's usually unilateral or asymmetric bilateral. The cornea starts to thin superiorly, and the thinning spreads circumferentially. The epithelium remains intact and a fine pannus traverses the area of thinning. At the end of the pannus is a line of lipid deposition. Perforation is rare, but can occur.
