How does a junctional acquired nevus become an intradermal nevus?
Back
1) Nest of melanocytes exists in the dermal/epidermal junction (this is a junctional nevus)

2) Grows by extension into the dermis (compound nevus)
3) Junctional component is lost, resulting in an intradermal nevus.
