Propranolol is a non-selective beta blocker which effectively lowers heart rate, cardiac contractility, and conduction velocity; but is avoided among patients with co-occurring asthma. Why?

Propranolol also causes bronchoconstriction, but may be resolved by immediate administration of FAs like epinephrine (for the heart) or full beta agonists like salbutamol (for the lungs)
