What type of V/Q mismatch occurs due to pulmonary embolus?

*This causes dead space in the area of the embolism, but in the lung as a whole, if there is hypoxemia it is due to a decreased V/Q ratio (dead space does not cause hypoxemia). This occurs due to very increased flow in other areas of the lung.
