Text
{{c2::Urinary tract infections (UTIs)}} are {{c1::infections in the bladder (cystitis) that can spread up to the kidneys causing complications such as pyelonephritis}}
Extra
UTIs are more common in women because the urethra is much shorter.

UTIs can be divided into upper (e.g. pyelitis, pyelonephritis) and lower (cystitis)

Furthermore UTIs can be complicated (i.e. anatomical difference or associated pathology, or co-morbidities like immunosuppression) or uncomplicated (i.e. typical pathogens in patients with normal urinary tract)
