- CT - heterogenous cystic mass. Calcifications in 45%
- MRI
- T1 hypointense
- T2 hyperintense
- Enhances with gadolinium
- May have a heterogenous signal due to cystic areas, necrosis, haemorrhage and calcification
- Extension into foramen of Luschka frequently seen
- Calcification is highly suggestive but not diagnostic of ependymoma
- Subependymoma
- Non-enhancing well-demarcated, nodular intraventricular tumour
- Isodense on CT
- T1 isointense
- T2 hyperintense
- Non-enhancing
