  • CT - heterogenous cystic  mass. Calcifications in 45%
  • MRI
    • T1 hypointense
    • T2 hyperintense
    • Enhances with gadolinium
    • May have a heterogenous signal due to cystic areas, necrosis, haemorrhage and calcification
    • Extension into foramen of Luschka frequently seen
    • Calcification is highly suggestive but not diagnostic of ependymoma
  • Subependymoma
    • Non-enhancing well-demarcated, nodular intraventricular tumour
    • Isodense on CT
    • T1 isointense
    • T2 hyperintense
    • Non-enhancing
