help establish the final diagnosis? (2)

This appearance may represent a range of pathologies including olfactory neuroblastoma, Ewing
sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, small cell carcinoma, SNUC
etc.
Useful IHC ‘profiles’ may include:
o
Lymphomatous: positive for markers including CD45, CD20, CD99, EMA
o
Sarcoma: positive for Vimentin and Desmin
o
EMA: positive in epithelial tumours, some lymphoma, meningioma
o
Neuroendocrine: positive for synaptophyin and chromogranin
§ Chromogranin also positive in carcinoid, Merkel cell,
small cell carcinoma
o
Melanoma: S100, Melan-A, HMB
o
Epithelial carcinoma: cytokeratins
