List the adverse prognostic factors for Neuroblastoma. (2)

  • Age: children <18 months have better prognosis 
  • Histological subtype/differentiation: undifferentiated subtype carries worse prognosis than differentiating or poorly differentiated 
  • Stage: earlier stage of disease carries better prognosis 
  • DNA index: hyperdiploid status carries better prognosis, particularly in those <2 years of age 
  • MYCN gene amplifications: lower copy number of MYCN oncogene associated with better prognosis 
  • Chromosomal alterations: 1p deletions, 11q deletions or 17q gain can confer worse prognosis
