Deep inguinal ring is the weakest point of the posterior wall of the inguinal canal, because:
- Anterior wall: aponeurosis of exteral oblique, lateral thirds by fibres of internal oblique/transversus abdominus [anterior wall is strongest]
- Posterior wall: hole in transversalis fascia [weakest]
