- Medullary pyramids are anterior swellings of the medulla oblongata.
- They are located on either side of the anterior median fissure.
- Consist of bundled corticospinal nerve fibres.
- Descending corticospinal fibres cross-over just inferiorly of the pyramids.
- = Decussation of the pyramids.
