Methanol (→ formic acid)
Uremia
Diabetic ketoacidosis
Propylene glycol
Iron tablets or Isoniazid
Lactic acidosis
Ethylene glycol (→ oxalic acid)
Salicylates (late)

- Also can be caused by oxoproline (from chronic acetaminophen use)
- Besides lactic acidosis (endogenous lactic acid), metabolic acidosis can be caused by exogenous lactic acid
