Anterior Tibial Artery
  • Origin: Begins opposite the {{c1::distal border of popliteus}}.
  • Course and Termination: Terminates in front of the {{c1::ankle}}, continuing as the {{c1::dorsalis pedis artery}}.
  • As it descends, it lies on the {{c1::interosseous membrane}}, {{c1::distal}} part of the {{c1::tibia}}, and {{c1::front}} of the {{c1::ankle joint}}.
  • It passes between the tendons of {{c1::extensor digitorum longus}} and {{c1::extensor hallucis longus}} distally.
  • It is related to the {{c1::deep peroneal nerve}}, lying {{c1::anterior}} to the {{c1::middle third}} of the vessel and {{c1::lateral}} to it in the {{c1::lower third}}.
