Bladder constriction
Back
- The ureter travels through the detrusor before draining into bladder, so when the bladder contracts, the ureters and blocked so urine only goes into the urethra
- This is the tightest portion of the ureter and is commonly where kidney stones get stuck
- Bigger stones can sometimes get stuck where the ureters cross the pelvis at the major vessels bifurcation, since crossing here results in a small constriction
