- TG are the major form of stored energy
- are highly concentrated, eneryg rich molecules because they are reduced and anhydrous
- 9 kcal/g for FA versus 4 kcal/g for carbohydrates or proteins
- 1g glycogen is stored with 2g H2O; TG is nearly anhydrous
