Burkitt -> eBv

Burkitt's lymphoma is named after Denis Parsons Burkitt, a surgeon from the UK. He was the first to describe the pediatric cancer that bears his name in 1957. He did this during his experience in Africa where he noticed several children with swellings in the angles of their jaws. He also was responsible for a study that showed an increase risk of colon cancer in patients with low fiber in their diet, although the general idea that colon cancer is a fiber deficieincy disease is now considered incorrect by some cancer researchers. Burkitt was born in 1911 and died in 1993.
