Named after Friedrich Ernst Krukenberg,a German physician. He started his career in gynecology, but later his interest turned to ophthalmology (Krukenberg's spindle is also named after him). He was an avid skier. He was born in 1871 and died in 1946.
Pathology shows signet ring cells.
