What is the guidance regarding HbA1c diagnosis in asymptomatic patients?
Back
HbA1c > 48 mmol/mol (6.5%) recommended as the cut point for diagnosing diabetes.
In asymptomatic  patients repeat the test. If the second sample is <48 mmol/mol (6.5%) treat as high diabetes risk and repeat the test in 6 months or sooner if symptoms develop.
