Hair follicles continually grow and grow [T/F]

F. Each follicle goes through growth cycles. In each cycle, an active growth phase is followed by a resting phase, in which the hair matrix is inactive and the follicle atrophies somewhat. At the start of each active phase, the newly growing hair pushes out the old hair, causing it to be shed.
