Orbital part: medial orbital margin (frontal, maxillary bones) and medial palpebral ligament (ligaments around the orbit)
Palpebral part: medial palpebral ligament

and the medial palpebral ligament.)

Insertion

Insertion:

tissue of the eylids

(Attaches to the skin of the eyelids, surrounds the bony orbit, and inserts into the superior and inferior tarsi medial to the lacrimal puncta)

Innervation:

Terminal branches of the facial nerve.

Actions

Action:

Draws eyebrows inferiorly

Its palpebral portion closes the lids gently, as in blinking.

The orbital portion closes the eyelids more forcibly, as in squinting.
