  • Murmur = swooshing of blood / inadequate values
    • Check the grade 
    • Depend on where they are 
    • Spinal has a hypotension 
      • Severe aortic stenosis , not a lot of blood pumped out ventricular

  • Class answer 
    • Wanted to know what it sounded like and where it is coming from 
    • Since it systolic: it is MR or AS
      • Mitral valve is opened during diastolic to fill

      • Will visualize the valve
    • Clinical signs 
      • AS: hearing it in the neck 
      • MR: heard in axilla ( armpit) 
    • AS don't do anything especially spinal 
      • Dropping BP are at risk for cardiac arrest 
      • Can give spinal slowly
    • When, where and mnemonic for the goals 
      • Stenosis is going through small hole 
      • Want it slow to get more blood through 
      • Sinus to get proper ejection 
      • SVR: would assume low BP but NOT TRUE 
        • Coronary arteries get perfused during dialysis
      • With low BP, coronary arteries wont perfuse 
      • Propofol, spinal drops BP
