How does a hydrogen fuel cell in acidic conditions work

Commit #132593
Anode (Oxidation), H2 enters and undergoes oxidation to from H+ transferring electrons to the cathode. The H+ moves through the electrolyte to react in the cathode. The electrolyte functions as a barrier only allowing specific ions to pass.
H2 ---> 2H+ + 2e-
Reduction (Cathode), O2 enters the cell and reacts with the H+ ions and electrons transferred from the anode to form water.
O2 + 4H+ + 4e- ---> 2H2O
Overall Redox equation
2H2 + O2 ---> 2H2O
