- Smoking cessation
- Follow a healthy eating pattern
- Salt <5g/day
- DASH diet / Mediterranean diet / refer to dietician / avoid junk food / 5 serves veges per day / limit saturated fats
- Incorporate regular physical activity into your routine
- 30 mins of moderate intensity exercise on most if not all days of the week (at least 150mins /week)
- avoid prolonged sitting
- Achieve and maintain a healthy weight
- sustainable changes over 6-12 months
- BMI 18.5-24.9
- Limit your intake of alcohol
- No safe consumption so not drinking at all is best
- No more than 10 standard drinks a week
- No more than 4 standard drinks in one day
- At least 2 alcohol free days every week.
