Oxytocin stimulates the {{c1::contraction of myoepithelial cells}} surrounding the {{c2::mammary alveoli}} during milk ejection. Suckling of the infant triggers a {{c3::neurohumoral reflex}} that releases oxytocin, but this can be blocked by {{c4::pain, fear, stress, or anxiety}}.
