Staphylococcus aureus can produce {{c1::enterotoxins}} when growing on food such as eggs, dairy and meat. 
  • This causes {{c1::small intestine}} inflammation. This causes symptoms of {{c2::diarrhoea}}, perfuse {{c2::vomiting}}, abdominal {{c2::cramps}} and {{c2::fever}}.
  • symptoms start within {{c1::hours}} of ingestion and settle within 12 to 24 hours.
 It is not actually the bacteria causing the enteritis, but the staphylococcus enterotoxin
