Extra 1
Although the lines are faint, the QT interval is at least 3 big boxes
(15 small boxes) which is 0.60 sec. There are a number of causes for a
prolonged QT interval (many drugs, electrolyte imbalance, CNS disease,
etc.) The patient with a prolonged QT is at increased risk for sudden
death, commonly from malignant ventricular arrhythmias such as
Torsade-de-pointes.
