{{c3::Thyroid gland::Structure}} originates as a {{c1::foramen cecum::structure}} in the {{c1::tongue(ventral pharynx)::location}}, migrates to ventral throat as a {{c2::thyroid diverticulum::structure}} which eventually becomes the {{c3::thyroid gland::strutcture}}. The {{c4::thyroglossal duct::structure}} is the connection between the origin(tongue) to developing thyroid and degenerates.
