  1. Since the Sterol Ring is Ridgid it tends to Reduce the Van Der Waals interactions between the two phospholipid tail groups.
  2. Immobolizes Hydrocarbon tails close to head groups
  3. Stiffens membrane making it Less Deformable and Less Permeable
