One of the phosphorylation targets of PKA is GPCR itself, which leads to a conformation change in the receptor making it hard for the G protein to bind, leading to a negative feedback loop
Furthermore, some protein such as \(\beta\)-arrestin can bind to heavily phosphorylated GPCRs and block G\(\alpha\) from binding
