Starting with antigen capture by
immature dendritic cells, describe the events leading to antigen presentation
to T lymphocytes.
Back
- Once an immature dendritic cell encounters an antigen, it rapidly matures. Antigen presenting ability increases, increasing MHC expression, expression of co-stimulatory molecules, and production of cytokines/chemokines.
- The mature dendritic cell then carries antigens via lymph or blood to lymphoid organs (lymph node or spleen) where it can present the antigen to T lymphocytes.
