Forms of chemical signaling
-
There are four categories of chemical signaling found in multicellular organisms: {{c1::Paracrine signaling}}, {{c1::endocrine signaling}}, {{c1::autocrine signaling}}, and {{c1::direct signaling across gap junctions}}. The main difference between the different categories of signaling is the {{c2::distance}} that the signal travels through the organism to reach the target cell. It is also important to note that not all cells are affected by the same signals.
