Where does the Ca come from and how is it controlled?
Back
APs in T tubules open voltage-gated C2+ channel (dihydropyridine receptor),
which contacts SR Ca2+ channel
(ryanodine receptor), releasing Ca2+ into cytosol. Ca rises from .1µM to
1µM over >80msec, then restored to SR via SR Ca2+ pump (SERCA).
