    1. CMF: cyclophosamide, methotrexate, and fluorouracil used in the treatment of breast carcinoma
      1. advantages of combination chemotherapy:
        1. doses of individual drugs can be {{c1::reduced}} and thus, reduce organ specific toxicities
        2. combinations that inhibit cell division at {{c1::more than one site }}are more effective in inhibiting cell growth
          1. Like slowing down the pathway to estradiol and also inhibiting estradiol itself, both work in tandem for better effect
        3. combinations reduce the probability that cancer cells will develop {{c1::resistance}} to drugs
