Ebstein's Anomaly commonly affects which valve?

A. Pulmonary
B. Tricuspid
C. Aortic
D. Mitral
Back
B. Tricuspid

Ebstein anomaly is a rare congenital heart defect affecting the tricuspid valve. In this anomaly, two of the leaflets form in incorrect positions and the third leaflet is longer than normal. As a result the deformed valve causes tricuspid regurgitation. This causes elevated pressures in the RA, which may then impede the close of the the foramen ovale, leading to a PFO + right to left shunting.
Other associated heart defects include: pulmonary valve stenosis/atresia, atrial septic defect, ventricular septal defects, accessory pathways/WPW syndrome
