Commit #341155The vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) is a gaze stabilizing reflex: the sensory signals encoding head movements are transformed into motor commands that generate compensatory eye movements in the opposite direction of the head movement, thus ensuring stable vision.
The startle reflex is a brainstem reflectory reaction (reflex) that serves to protect vulnerable parts, such as the back of the neck (whole-body startle) and the eyes (eyeblink) and facilitates escape from sudden stimuli.
