➢ Drain venous plexus
➢ Accompany medium arteries
➢ Have flap valves
▪ permit blood to flow towards the heart but not in the reverse direction
▪ in the limbs
▪ in some other loc. where the flow of blood is opposed
- Examples:
a. Superficial vein
Cephalic and basilic veins of the upper limb and great and small saphenous veins of the lower limb)
b. Accompanying veins that are named according to the artery they accompany.
